SOLD "Sunflowers", stained glass mosaic, 60" x 36"
Sunflowers always turn toward the light. Throughout the day, they turn their large heads to track the sun as it crosses the sky above them. To me, sunflowers serve as a reminder to always look for the positive in situations and in life.
The wall behind the flowers represents past events that may hold us down or discourage us. As you can see, the flowers are growing on the other side of the wall facing the other direction. While past events are always part of who we are, they don't have to determine who we will become. The wall isn't a denial, but a conscious choice to face the light, look for the good and keep moving forward.
This glass mosaic is built on Wonderboard (a fiberglass mesh-reinforced cement backerboard with high strength and moisture resistance). The piece is framed so it can be easily hung on any wall with the use of a French cleat. The reclaimed-wood frame could also be removed so the piece could be installed on a wall as part of a larger mosaic or permanent wall fixture.
French cleat for hanging is included in the purchase of this wall art.
